What is
MLC Charities?

MLC Charities was founded in 2017, to honor Morgan Lauren Cleaves who at the tender age of 16, lost her life in a senseless vehicular accident. The charity’s mission highlights Morgan’s kind and charitable spirit of giving and her love of cheerleading.

Morgan Lauren Cleaves was born on December 26, 1999, in Riverdale, GA; the second child of Lee and Teresa Cleaves. From the very beginning, she was soft and warm with a kind and gentle spirit. A mentor to all that she met, and a true champion for the underdog. She was known to easily be able to cheer someone up when down, with her signature life’s motto “it’s just not that serious.”
Morgan was adventurous and loved trying new things. She was very passionate about cheerleading and cheered for various local teams including Mundy’s Mill Razor Backs, Elite Storm Lady Rain, The Weather Girls, and AUC (Atlanta Universal Cheerleading). She was also a member of DECA and served as the team manager for the Mundy’s Mill Boys Basketball team, where she was also a student. She also attended Our Lady of Mercy High School, and Calloway Elementary as a young child.

She participated in the Oliver Saxby Children’s Choir, traveled with the youth ministry, and visited churches in Jamaica providing school supplies and fellowship. In addition to traveling with the youth ministries, she was also a member of the Usher Ministry and several other church groups.

Although Morgan’s life was cut short, she made an indelible impression on all that she met. MLC Charities strives to keep Morgan’s spirit of love, faith, and giving alive and thriving through providing scholarships, and activity support to young people, as well as many other types of aid to those in need.
